Girl At Dentist Freaks Out When Told Whataburger Closed Down (VIDEO)

According to the Houston Chronicle:

A viral video making the rounds this week and uploaded in late December shows a girl named Taylor, fresh from wisdom teeth surgery struggling to comprehend life itself. Anyone who has had serious dental surgery knows that whatever they use is very strong.

In the video the girl’s mother, Nikki Duvall, tells her that Whataburger — her favorite place — has been closed. Almost instantly her swollen face is covered in tears.

We are all her. Whataburger for life.

Texas Fires Head Coach Charlie Strong

Statements below via TexasSports.com and UT News:

Statement from Mike Perrin, Men’s Athletics Director:
“Decisions like this are tough to make. The responsibility is not taken lightly. I became friends with Charlie Strong before becoming Athletics Director. I have the utmost personal respect for him. His impact on college athletics and student-athletes should be celebrated. Coach Strong represented The University of Texas with class and dignity, and he demanded our student-athletes do the same by adhering to his system of core values. However, after thorough evaluation, the body of work over three seasons has not shown the improvement we were hoping for. This was an important year for our program to take the next step, and the results simply aren’t there, so we’ve decided to make a change. We appreciate Coach Strong so much, are grateful for all he has done with our program and wish him the best in the future.”

Statement from Charlie Strong:
“It’s a very difficult day for me, my family and all of the people affected by this decision. I’m most disappointed for these kids and our staff who have poured so much of their lives into this program for the last three years. I do understand that it comes down to wins and losses, and we have not done our job in that area yet. I accept full responsibility for that, but know in my heart that we accomplished our primary goal, which is the development of young men. We have had a positive impact on our campus and the community, and I’m proud of how our team is focused on earning their degrees. We were developing something really special. This program has a championship foundation built on great young men with tremendous character. There are very bright days ahead, and I’ll be pulling for these kids no matter where I am. I want to thank everyone who supported me and this program for the last three years. I don’t regret coming to Texas. I learned a great deal and grew as a person in my time here. I’ll miss the opportunity to lead this program going forward, but I’m ready to accept my next challenge.”

Statement from Greg Fenves, President of the University of Texas:

Charlie Strong is an outstanding leader and role model who worked hard and with great integrity to move Longhorn football in the right direction. He has been committed to helping our student-athletes succeed both on and off the field. I share the pride, admiration and respect that many in Longhorn nation and beyond feel for him.

In the end, the results over three seasons were not there. It was not clear the future was going to be at the levels expected of Longhorn football.

I congratulate our players, who showed great heart and resilience this season, with many outstanding performances. Elite student-athletes come to UT expecting to compete at the highest levels and succeed academically. The university will continue to pursue those goals and prepare them for life after college.

I am grateful for the contributions Charlie Strong made to our athletics program and the community. I wish Charlie, Vicki and their family only the best moving forward. I will forever consider them friends of the university.

Thank you for the values taught to us all, Coach Strong. Hook ’em.

YCT Believes “Melatonin” (Not Melanin) of Person’s Skin Has No Bearing On Who They Are

So, the Young Conservatives of Texas had their stupid, racist bake sale…again. And yes, before we get into any detail, they should all be bussed across the border to Norman, Oklahoma.

One bustling quote from the bake sale comes in at 1:15 when one of YCT’s member says that the “Melatonin of a person’s skin has no bearing on who they are as a person…essentially.”

UT’s collective reaction?

Go home, YCT. You’re drunk.

#CocksNotGlocks Protest: Packing Meat, Not Packing Heat (10 Photos)

We present the best pics from the #CocksNotGlocks protest at UT-Austin today. If you need some history about how this came to be, visit their website:

“On June 1, 2015, Gov. Greg Abbott signed S.B. 11, also known as the “campus carry” law. S.B. 11 provides that license holders may carry a concealed handgun throughout university campuses, starting Aug. 1, 2016. The law gives public universities some discretion to regulate campus carry.”

The State of Texas has decided that it is not at all obnoxious to allow deadly concealed weapons in classrooms, however it does have strict rules about free sexual expression, to protect your innocence. You would receive a citation for taking a dildo to class before you would get in trouble for taking a gun to class. Heaven forbid the penis.

UT-Austin Ranked One Of The Most Sleep-Deprived Schools In the Country

University of Texas at Austin students only get an average of 6.88 hours of sleep during the week and 7.3 hours on the weekend, according to a study by Jawbone.

The fitness tracking software measured sleeping patterns from tens of thousands of students at over 100 colleges across the United States.

Students who track their sleep with UP at these schools average 7.03 hours of sleep during the week, and 7.38 hours of sleep on weekends.

Longhorns are going to bed at 12:30am during the week and, on average, at 1:27am on the weekends (yeah right). Pretty sure we’re not wearing our fitness bands when we’re out partying downtown.

How much sleep are you getting? Tell us in the comments!

Someone Hacked A Traffic Sign on 24th & Rio Grande To Say “OU Still Sucks”

Not all hacks are bad, and not all heroes wear capes.

Great job to whoever did this. OU still sucks!

UT-Austin Is Most Valuable Sports Program In The Country

Once again, The University of Texas at Austin is the most valuable sports program in the country raking in $179.6 million in athletic revenue, according to CBS Sports.

OU came in at 5th place…’cause they suck. And, Texas A&M was so far down the list that I really didn’t feel like counting.

To further add to our keys to success, we’re also the most valuable football team in ‘Merica, according to Forbes.

Texas’ team value is up 16% this year to $152 million, and that climb to the stratosphere should hardly be a surprise at this point.

Notre Dame may have beat us on the field, but we beat them in the wallet…’cause that’s what counts, right? RIGHT?! They came in at #2, while Tennessee (seriously?) came in third.

All we do is win.
