This should replace our population sign as you come into town.

Timelapse Video Of Austin At Night Will Make You Want To Stay Here Forever

KUT posted an awesome video from timelapse videographer and UT aerospace engineering Ph.D. candidate Andrew Takano. The interview mentions something really awesome about the whole thing:

He doesn’t have specialty equipment. He just uses a tripod and does a lot of work in post-production.

Though he says it’s hard to keep track, Takano estimates that he spent “around 300 hours” producing this latest video.

You can read the rest of the interview here.

Damn, I love this city.

Jim Carrey spoofs Matthew McConaughey’s Austin-based Lincoln Commercial

Gotta love those Lincoln commercials from UT alum Matthew McConaughey, especially if they’re being spoofed by the infamous Jim Carrey. Our favorite quote:

I could understand if you did this right after the Lincoln Lawyer, that would’ve made sense. But you don’t buy a Lincoln ’cause it makes sense. You do it ’cause you love it…or ’cause you’re an Uber driver.

Matthew McConaughey’s Lincoln Commercials Are Really About UT Pride

Lincoln’s latest spots featuring Matthew McConaughey have gotten quite a lot of attention, especially in the Longhorn community.

It all started with this spot…set in Austin. with quotes like this:

Sometimes you’ve gotta go back, to actually move forward.

Our beautiful city is featured everywhere.

But wait, there’s more!

Matthew seems to go up against Bevo! And, Bevo wins!

Respect, yo.

Of course, Ellen decided to make a parody of it…because Ellen.
